Megacities vs Towns?

Quote from Andrew J on March 30, 2025, 4:29 pmWhich one do you prefer for living? Of course, there are more job opportunities in big cities but if you have a remote job, would you still prefer to live there or move to a more peaceful and laid-back location? Which other factors did you consider while choosing your location?

Understanding that both Towns and Megacities can be just as bustling, noisy and crowded. Though I would choose a more peaceful and relaxed place to live. A Megacity like NYC is expected to have better resources and more robust systems & infrastructures to grow and sustain such a population, indeed is expected to be larger than that of a town with more competition, it also makes potential for more opportunities and developments. Between a Town and a Megacity both has similar disadvantages but the advantages of the Megacity can outweigh that of the Town.

Quote from David Bose on April 3, 2025, 3:46 pmIf you consider today's job market, it would be better to live in a big city as it would be easier to find a job if there is a lay off. However, if you consider rent, groceries, travel, and other expenses, the cost of living is quite high.
In case of a stable job, living in a town would be better.

Also, the roads and infrastructure of major cities is something that cannot be compared to the countryside.
