Music Festivals

There's more out there than just the big names, like Coachella and Burning Man.  For instance, we have an epic three-day event in Seattle called the Capitol Hill Block Party.  The artists dazzle us with rock, rap, r&b, pop, and more, so there's something for everyone to enjoy.  The vibe of the festival is very relaxed and welcoming, so you're not going to feel out of place.  I live in Seattle, and I go every July when it's on.  It can be a bit crowded, but that just adds to the exciting atmosphere because it's a chance to meet so many great people.

Does your city host a music festival?  Music is a big part of my life, so I'd love to hear about what's going on in your city.

I've been to Burning Man and it's overrated in my opinion.  It's way too crowded and there aren't near enough restrooms or food tents available.  Then again, maybe I'm just getting too old for partying all weekend and need more creature comforts.  I prefer events that I can enjoy into the night, but then go back home early the next day.

I live in New York City, and we have a couple of free music events over the summer that are epic.  Bryant Park's free concert series usually attracts some big names that play, so it's pretty popular.  Another good one is the Lincoln Center's free summer music festival.  It is all about celebrating different cultures, so it's less trendy, but there's still loads of good entertainment on offer.

The Capitol Hill Block Party does sound good, Natalie.  Are tickets expensive?
